Events
Dewson School Council is proud to host a variety of events throughout the year that aim to build a stronger community and support our school's programs. Our events range from our much-loved annual Dance-A-Thon to the end of year fun fair. Not only do our events provide a great opportunity to connect with other families, but they also play a critical role in raising funds needed to make important improvements to our school.

Dance-A-Thon
Mark your calendars for the Dewson Dance-A-Thon, which will be held April 12, 2024. Hosted by Professor Jamz, this event is a lot of fun for all students and is our biggest fundraiser of the year. Our budget supports amazing activities and initiatives that improve the academic and social well-being of our students. We hope to see you there!

Other events include the annual Walk & Roll/Pride Flag Raising (June 3, 2024), where we celebrate diversity and inclusion within our school community. We also offer monthly Pizza Lunches, providing students with a delicious and convenient meal. In addition to these regular events, we host various ad hoc events throughout the school year to keep things exciting and engaging.
Dewson Fun Fair
The Dewson Fun Fair is an unbelievable event which happens every June in the early afternoon, rain or shine (though it has never rained on us). It is a highly anticipated student event. They say it takes a village to raise a child… but it takes an entire school community to pull off the Fun Fair every year. It is the most volunteer-dependent event of the year. We need all hands-on-deck. Just a little time goes a long way. While the vast majority of volunteers are needed on the day of, we also need help prior to the Fun Fair. No offer of time is too small – come one, come all! The focus of Fun Fair is FUN; any funds raised for the school council budget support amazing activities and initiatives at the school for improving student achievement and well-being.
